Related to who?Thinking about Pagan
communities
I've been thinking about communities and
relationships a lot.
Right now I am cat sitting for a friend. The cat has already told me in no uncertain terms that she doesn't approve of my house yet, and she certainly doesn't approve of me, At least not without her person close by. Give her a couple of days, and maybe she might accept me as a person of a sort. It has to be hard, plucked from your house and plopped in someone else's place. We Pagans make a big deal about walking between the worlds, but sometimes I think we spend so much time trying to be in the world we want that we forget to be in the world we're in. Communities are important, there is no doubt about that. But there are Pagans loudly proclaiming "community" that I would prefer not to deal with. I think by placing placing the emphasis on "community" rather than individual action, we can fall into the old dogma trap from the Christians. I started writing this on Sunday, but I think I am picking up on something. Evidently there were some comments at Wren's Nest I missed, and seshen put in her nickel here and here. Synchronicity can be tough. I am going to come back to this subject when I have thought about it some more.
