Mark timeDifference between the point in time and the
celebration
I've been reorganizing my
calendars.
For years I've made the distinction between the astronomical event and my rites and celebrations. For example, the next full moon is at 5:20 a.m. Arizona time on April 28th. That is the event. But I start celebrating the Bright Moon at dusk tonight and keep going until dawn on the 30th. I do three nights each for the Bright and Dark Moons. Summer begins at the cross quarter point at 7:32 a.m. Arizona time on May 5th. My High Holiday begins at sunset on May 4th and lasts until sunset on May 6th. "Traditionally," Beltaine is on May Day. Since I don't necessarily have to worry about the classic Palm OS eight calendar limit anymore, I'm splitting off the astronomical events into a separate calendar called Milieu. Naturally it will include sunrise and sunset for some days too. It might even include some weather. The rites and celebrations I'll keep private on another calendar, but much more detailed. I think I like this.

Pagan philosopher, libertarian, and part-time trouble maker, NeoWayland looks at keeping truths alive despite a wash of nonsense. But don't be surprised when he's doing the "nekkid Pagan guy" thing.
