Corellian update

Survivors of a murky situation

Because of some comments last week on this post, I went looking for some updated information.

Once again, I am not Wiccan or Correllian and I can't presume to speak for them. Nor will I try to hide that I do not think that Witchschool.com is a good idea. But it's not my idea or project, and I think people should decide for themselves.

On the other hand, the few posts I have on the Correllian groups do seem to draw people to my blog.

Here's what I do know now. And since it is a little confusing, I'm going to color code things.

The Correllian Nativist Tradition (www.correllian.org, link seems defunct) was the original Correllian group where the teachings came from.

The Correllian Nativist Church International (www.correllian.com, also apparently affiliated with Wittchschool.com) is headed by Don Lewis and is one of several groups founded on Correllian teachings.

Officially there is no relationship between the two, and please don't ask me to dig further into the whys and wherefores.

For what it is worth, the CNT apparently was the one that tried to split from Lewis and the Hoopeston group. At that time, I don't think there was a CNCI.

The CNCI maintains no tax exempt status, but some individual Corellian Temples do have such status in their own right.

The CNCI doesn't know the status of the CNT. Apparently the CNT has recently closed it's lead temple in Albany. A few days poking around on my part doesn't show any significant web activity by the CNT.

I'm not about to say which is the "official" version of the Correllian tradition. I have no way of judging. I will say that the things that work tend to be the ones that are used. Going by that and that alone, I'd pick Don Lewis and the CNCI.

After all, he was nice enough to answer my email.
