Things Neo learned in 2009Or at least the things that Neo got
reminded of
The hair tickle thing from
Ally
McBeal really works. Particularly behind the
knee on the inside edge. It also works fairly well on the shoulder, but that
leads more to nuzzles.
Chronic depression can not be cured by sheer willpower. You get tired, lose focus, and then you get depressed despite yourself. Likewise chronic insomnia. There are some things that are REALLY NOT A GOOD IDEA when you've had less than two hours sleep a day for more than a week straight. These include but are not limited to answering your email, paying bills, starting a major remodel of your living room, and chopping kindling for the fireplace. Oh, and betting yourself that you can make a vegetable knife stick in the far wall. All future agreements with design clients should include a clause about the client not showing the "work in progress" until after the work is finished and the client has signed off on it. Yes, this can lead to more business, but it also means many more revisions of the original work. Three clients at once for a one person part-time operation is not good when two of those clients are high maintenance. Never EVER let yourself be sweet talked into "making an exception just this once" again. Especially with design work. The sixteen year old down the street is hot. She dresses very well. She's also jailbait and knows it. She plays the game entirely too well to be innocent. Do NOT Even THINK About Touch for at least five more years. The plumber is your friend. Pay his bills promptly. Send him Harry & David pears when he responds to your emergencies on a Sunday. When a very nice (tasting) lady friend wants to throw you a surprise birthday party despite the fact that you don't do birthdays and haven't in years, STFU & smile big for the camera. People are still good and decent. The planet is continually amazing. Be glad you live here and now. More being excellent to each other. Less party on. And fewer movie references. I owe some people some apologies for the way I drifted through the year.

Pagan philosopher, libertarian, and part-time trouble maker, NeoWayland looks at keeping truths alive despite a wash of nonsense. But don't be surprised when he's doing the "nekkid Pagan guy" thing.
