Storm

The Hard Rain

I've got my own system for defining the Arizona monsoon season. It makes more sense to me than the "official" season.

But this year, things have been off to a late start weather-wise, at least in my high desert. We got our first real monsoon storm of the season yesterday. Right down to the sheets of rain and the little hailstones bouncing back up off the street four or five inches. It only lasted about a half hour (desert, remember?), but it was definitely a "hard rain."

This morning it was still about 45% humidity, and right now as I type this it's still about 21% humidity. Which makes it slightly muggy but not too unpleasant, as long as the temperature stays under 100ºF.

Oh, I watched it from inside with a root beer and a turkey and cheddar sandwich.

I may be a weather junkie, but I'm not stupid. Some weather is meant to be experienced and some is meant to be watched.
