Occasionally I wandered in where I was not wanted and gave truthful answers.
Sometimes I even did it deliberately. A little disruption now can prevent disaster later.

Mistress Moon

Spring Rites

The Moon is pretty important to my beliefs.

During the waxing moon I wear a malachite bear pendant loosely based on a Zuni fetish. It's probably my favorite pendant, it was a gift.

During the three days of the full moon I usually wear a wheel cross. Some people prefer the pentagram as a general pagan symbol, but I have always identified better with the wheel cross. Maybe it has something to do with my Christian heritage, but I think it has something more to do with the first "official" witchcraft book I ever read, An ABC of Witchcraft Past and Present by Doreen Valiente. I really felt the concepts behind the very first entry.

During the waning moon I wear a German silver bear medicine shield. And during the three nights of the dark moon I usually break out my darker steel and pewter pieces.

But my favorite moon rite is the one I do every year on the first full moon where it is warm enough. I take a moon bath. There is really something to be said for letting all that silver light wash through you into the Earth.

I'm not poet enough to describe how it feels or what it does to my senses for days afterwards. It's a kiss of the Goddess.
